It’s Sunday, which means one thing: Long Coffee Trip time.
That weekly ritual where I nobly leave the house “to plan,” but really just drive around sipping espresso, mainlining podcasts like they’re spiritual guidance, and reviewing my calendar like it’s a roast written by future me. Somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, inspiration hits—and of course, I feel compelled to share it with the world.
(Or, more accurately, with my 3.5 loyal followers. Not sure how I ended up with half a person, but I admire their selective commitment.)
So, I’ve decided to make it official-ish.
Thanks to a bit of AI magic (and my inability to not turn everything into a full-blown project), Long Coffee Trips is finally becoming what it was always meant to be: a Sunday ritual of reflection. A weekly-ish blend of travel, storytelling, self-deprecating humor, light existential spirals, and that rare clarity that only shows up after your third cup of coffee.
Think of it as the Sunday paper for my LinkedIn feed.
And this week? It hit at a rest stop.
I was supposed to be driving. To parts unknown. In search of an espresso-fueled third place where I could plan out my week and pretend to be a productive adult.
Instead, I pulled over and ended up sketching out a story about Fritz—a ginger cat with big ideas and an even bigger support system: his mom, dad, Nana Dot, and his sister Bitty. What started as a random idea turned into a full character arc.
There’s even a custom image. Yes, I made art at a rest stop.

But here’s the twist: I didn’t do it alone. I used AI to help organize my thoughts, clean up my rambling drafts, and keep my tone exactly where I wanted it—somewhere between emotionally honest and lightly ridiculous.
Professionally, I’m just one person—but in the past year, I’ve launched books, pitched projects, built workshops, and developed entire characters, all without hiring a full-time creative team. That’s not even counting the AI agents I’ve built to onboard sales reps, serve as pseudo-counselors, and function as digital teachers.
I dive into this a bit more in my latest LinkedIn post, How I Accidentally Hired an Entire Writing Team Without Posting a Job Ad—if you're curious how all this rest stop chaos turned into actual strategy.
On the personal side, I’ve been exploring how AI can help educators—especially those without budgets, teams, or dev departments—build targeted, interactive content at a level they’ve never had access to before.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
You don’t need a full team, perfect conditions, or a big budget to bring an idea to life—you just need the right tools, a little momentum, and a place to start (even if it’s a rest stop).
So no, this isn’t a sales pitch.
It’s just a real-time snapshot of what happens when you mix a curious brain, an open highway, and a bit of technology that actually helps instead of overwhelms.
Long Coffee Trips is officially (ish) back in motion.
The destination? Who knows.
But I hope you stick around for the ride.
